Laptops for Bristol
Covid-19 has thrown the digital divide into stark relief, with many vulnerable families and young people excluded from education, and social support due to a lack of suitable equipment at home.
We’re delighted to announce that six churches across the city have recently become laptop donation points for Bristol-based charity, DigiLocal, who are working with a number of trusted partners across the region to provide re-conditioned laptops for vulnerable families.
With schools closed, families are finding it increasingly difficult to access education without access to a laptop and only being able to access their work via a phone. Others are sharing with siblings – sometimes up to six to one laptop. Under these circumstances, children fall behind educationally. There is a huge digital divide in our city.
If you have a working laptop that you no longer need, you can donate it to DigiLocal where it will be carefully wiped and refurbished ready for use by a family to use for school, accessing social support, etc.
