A Million acts of hope
For 2026, we’re excited to partner with our friends at the Good Faith Partnership who organise the Bristol Warm Welcome Network, to get involved in a nationwide movement called “A Million Acts of Hope.” From 13–20 May, we want to encourage and highlight practical acts of hope happening across Bristol.
This week will celebrate both new community projects and the everyday acts of hope already taking place in our neighbourhoods. Over the last 18 months, it has been great to see the work by Bristol City Council, Voscur and SARI around ‘community cohesion’ and bringing organisations together to talk, be challenged and mobilised to change our communities. Together, we continue working to build Bristol as a City of Hope.
We would love to see as many VCSE organisations, and faith groups as possible taking part by sharing on websites/social media and celebrating the acts of hope they are already doing in their communities during this week and into the future.

EVENT IDEAS
Below are a range of ideas for events to bring communities together.
Resources
Supporting practical activity in local communities or projects that help individuals.
Do you need documents that can help administrate community events or practical projects, such as health & safety forms? Do you need equipment to help with events or projects, such as BBQ’s or garden tools for clearances?
Click on the link below to request to hire equipment, or to view the documents you can download for diligent planning.
The point of a pop-up event is to provide a space for connection and conversation. The temporary nature of a ‘pop-up’ means you can trial ideas without committing to something long-term.
We’ve put together a short ‘how-to’ guide to help you run your own.
Do you know the people living next door or in the same street as you?
In our busy society, it can be easy to overlook the simple opportunities we have to get to know the people God has put right on our doorstep.
Sharing your time and skills for free, for the benefit of others, is an incredibly generous act of love and care, but where do you start?
