The Vision
For 8th consecutive year, local churches will be involved in running a huge event in North Bristol called 'The Noise'. It happens on the May Day Bank Holiday Weekend (Saturday 2nd - Monday 4th May) across the communities of Horfield, Upper Horfield, Lockleaze, Manor Farm, Southmead and this year in Sea Mills.
Stewart North, The Noise 2009 Project Organiser comments 'The Noise is a high profile weekend to demonstrate what the church is doing all year round. Local churches connecting with the community in a season of uncertainty in this country, having some fun and not charging a penny.' The events of The Noise weekend are probably the most visible and high profile part of the local churches' work within the community, but this work does not end when the weekend ends! Many of the projects run throughout the year, such as kids clubs, sports activities, and events for senior citizens. Noise co-ordinators work closely with (and are supported by) many local organisations, schools, and neighbourhood trusts. These strong partnerships help us to identify and then meet the needs of the area, therefore maximising the impact and worth of The Noise.
